Health and Healing Monthly News Update

 World Cancer Day 2016 - 2018

cancer-day-2017smallFebruary 4th 2017 was ‘World Cancer Day’. World Cancer Day takes place under the tagline “We can. I can”.  The communications on that day explored how everyone – as a collective or as individuals – can do their part to reduce the global burden of cancer.

The strategy is based on the recommendations of a national Cancer Taskforce that set an ambitious task for the NHS: to make significant progress in reducing preventable cancers, increasing cancer survival and improving patient experience and quality of life by 2020. Each area has local cancer alliances working with primary care and hospitals to improve cancer care.
