Mission and Training - How can we help?
As Eastern Synod's Mission and Training Officer I have overall responsibility for mission-enabling and training issues, and am available to advise and support local churches by:
Providing mission resources (including workshops) - Offering a range of training programmes for lay preachers, elders and others - Administering the Educating Ministry programme, which covers the training needs of serving ministers
I will work with you to address the needs of individuals, churches and groups of churches.
Our theme for all of our work is Walking the Way: Living the Life of Jesus Today, a focus which encourages missional discipleship in our churches.

These can be delivered in a variety of ways: I could lead / facilitate / speak at:
- Sunday morning worship
- weekend workshops
- day conferences
- away days
- evening sessions
- Elder / Church and / or Area Meetings
- a workshop series
Vision2020 is the URC's framework to support mission planning. This identifies key areas for mission for us to focus on. We have advocates for many of these mission areas and I would encourage you to contact them for advice and support for your church's particular focus.
